1. Description
Coal tar is a kind of organic compound (mainly aromatic hydrocarbon), and it is an important by-product in the coal processing industry. Coal tar is the basic raw material of chemical products like synthetic plastic, synthetic fiber, pesticide, dyestuff and medicine as well as basic raw material in such sectors as metallurgy, construction, textile, paper making and traffic.
Coal tar is a brown or black liquid of extremely high viscosity. Coal tars are complex and variable mixtures of phenols, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and heterocyclic compounds, about 200 substances in all.
2. Properties
Coal tar is a kind of black or black brown sticky liquid got during the process of coal coking .Coal tar has special distinctive odor. 4 Application
