Definition: anthracene oil is a fraction of coal tar, which is harvested when the coal tar is distilled to 280~360°C The initial boiling point of #1 anthracene oil and #2 anthracene is 310°C, 50% can be harvested at 400 °C.

Characters:

Its normality is yellow green oil, but separate out yellow crystal glowing blue fluorescence at room temperature. It is soluble in ethanol and ether but not in water. Some is soluble in organic solvents such as chlorobenzene and hot styrene. It belongs to organic corrosive, is irritant, flammable.
